Vaughn Armstrong
Vaughn Dale Armstrong, born on July 7, 1950, in Sonora, California, is a distinguished American actor known for his extensive work in the Star Trek franchise and beyond. Before embarking on his acting career, Armstrong served honorably in the United States military during the Vietnam War.
He is celebrated as one of the most prolific actors in Star Trek history, having portrayed an impressive twelve different characters across nearly all the series, with the exception of the original. His debut in the franchise occurred in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Heart of Glory," where he embodied Commander Korris, a rebellious Klingon with grand ambitions. His versatility is showcased through various roles, including Klingons like Korath and Klaax, Cardassians like Gul Danar, and even a Borg character known as Lansor/Two of Nine. Notably, he played Admiral Forrest in Star Trek: Enterprise, and he reprised this role in the two-part Mirror Universe episode "In a Mirror, Darkly."
Outside of Star Trek, Armstrong's talents extend to appearances in other iconic series, including Babylon 5, Seinfeld, and Quantum Leap. He has also been featured in films like Cinderella 2000 and The Philadelphia Experiment, and even lent his voice to the 1996 video game Disruptor as President Krieger.
In addition to acting, Armstrong is a skilled musician, particularly with the ukulele, and performs traditional songs and blues, often entertaining fans at conventions with his unique Klingon "gutbucket" music.
