Jim Codrington, a Toronto native, embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of 13 with a performance in the Black Theatre Canada production of The Malfini. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ryerson University, specializing in Radio and Television Arts, after honing his musical talents at St. Michael’s Choir School, where he received extensive training in both vocal and instrumental performance.

Codrington gained significant recognition as the co-host of the acclaimed Canadian children's television series The Polka Dot Door, which garnered multiple awards. His most notable role came between 2008 and 2010 when he portrayed Acting Inspector Darnell Williams in the popular drama series The Border.
