Duwayne Dunham
Duwayne Robert Dunham, born on November 17, 1952, is a prominent American director and editor celebrated for his significant contributions to film and television. He serves as an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, sharing his expertise with aspiring filmmakers. Dunham is particularly recognized for his collaborations with iconic filmmakers George Lucas and David Lynch, having edited the influential films *Return of the Jedi* and *Blue Velvet*.
His career took a pivotal turn when he joined Lynch’s groundbreaking series *Twin Peaks*, where he transitioned from editor to director, making his directorial debut with the show’s second episode. Dunham went on to direct beloved family films such as *Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey* and *Little Giants*, as well as a series of successful Disney Channel movies, including *Halloweentown*, *The Thirteenth Year*, *Ready to Run*, *Right on Track*, and *Tiger Cruise*. In a notable reunion in 2018, he collaborated again with Lynch to edit all 18 episodes of the *Twin Peaks: The Return* revival series.
In a unique twist to his career, Dunham gained fame as the first actor to portray the legendary Star Wars bounty hunter Boba Fett during the character's public debut at the 1978 San Anselmo Country Fair in California, having previously filmed a screen test in the costume. His exceptional work on *Twin Peaks* earned him a Primetime Emmy Award in 1990, solidifying his legacy in the entertainment industry.
