Max Alvarado (February 19, 1929 – April 6, 1997) was a renowned Filipino actor celebrated for his captivating portrayals of villains throughout a remarkable six-decade career in the film industry. Born Gavino Maximo Teodosio in Manila, Alvarado's early life was marked by his involvement with street gangs and manual labor before he made his debut in cinema in 1948 with a minor role in *Halik sa Bandila*.

He quickly became a staple in the Filipino film scene, often cast as the antagonist in productions from Premiere Productions, Larry Santiago Productions, and People's Pictures. His performance in the 1953 film *Ang Sawa Sa Lumang Simboryo*, directed by Gerry de Leon, earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the FAMAS Awards, an honor he would receive multiple times throughout his career. Ultimately, he won the FAMAS Best Supporting Actor award in 1971 for his role in *Ang Kampana ng Sta. Quiteria*.

In addition to his villainous roles, Alvarado displayed remarkable versatility, taking on leading parts, romantic roles, and even portrayals of gay characters, as seen in the 1978 film *Gorgonia*. He was also nominated for Best Actor in 1968 for *Tatak Sakramentos*. Alvarado frequently starred alongside legendary actor Fernando Poe Jr., alternating between adversarial and supportive roles, solidifying his legacy in Philippine cinema.
