Tonita Castro (January 8, 1953 – May 8, 2016) was a talented actress who immigrated from Jalisco, Mexico, to the United States in the late 1970s. Initially aspiring to become an educator, she found her footing in the entertainment industry, securing a position at Radio Express, where she dedicated over two decades of her life.

In 2005, Castro transitioned to on-screen performances, marking her debut in the acclaimed crime series The Shield. She quickly became a familiar face on television, making guest appearances in a variety of popular shows, including Glee, Little Britain USA, The Sarah Silverman Program, The Travelers, Two and a Half Men, Kroll Show, and Life in Pieces. Notably, she played a recurring role in the comedy series Go On alongside Matthew Perry from 2012 to 2013. Castro was also part of the primary cast of the short-lived sitcom Dads in 2013, which was produced by Seth MacFarlane.

Her film credits include roles in Imagine That, Funny People, Our Family Wedding, Bad Ass, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, The Book of Life, and In God's Time. Unfortunately, during her time on Life in Pieces, Castro was diagnosed with stomach cancer, which ultimately took her life on May 8, 2016. Her contributions to the entertainment industry and her vibrant spirit continue to be remembered.
