Madis Kalmet
Madis Kalmet, born on January 27, 1955, is a distinguished Estonian actor and theatre director whose career has significantly shaped the cultural landscape of Estonia. He completed his education at the Tallinn State Conservatory, graduating from the Stage Art Department in 1980. Following his graduation, Kalmet embarked on his professional journey as an actor, contributing to the Rakvere Theatre from 1980 to 1985. His talents soon led him to take on the role of principal stage manager at the same theatre, a position he held from 1985 until 1988.
In 1989, Kalmet transitioned back to acting, showcasing his versatility and passion for the craft. He continued to make an impact in the theatre community until 1992, when he became the theatre director of Endla Theatre. Under his leadership from 1992 to 1999, Endla Theatre flourished, and Kalmet's vision helped to elevate its artistic offerings.
