Gülse Birsel
Gülse Birsel, born on March 11, 1971, in Istanbul, is the youngest of three siblings in the Şener family, where her father, Gültekin, practiced law and her mother, Semiha, managed the household. Her name is a creative blend of her parents' initials. Gülse has two older siblings: her brother Bozkurt, an ophthalmologist and former national volleyball player, and her sister Dilek, who is three years her senior.
Gülse completed her secondary education at Beyoğlu Anadolu High School, where she initially aspired to pursue a career in acting. However, at the behest of her family, she enrolled in Boğaziçi University, majoring in Economics. Gülse's academic journey continued as she pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree at Columbia University from 1994 to 1996, further honing her creative talents.
