Cengiz Bozkurt
Mehmet Cengiz Bozkurt, born on December 24, 1965, is a prominent Turkish actor recognized for his memorable portrayal of Erdal Bakkal in the acclaimed surreal comedy series "Leyla ile Mecnun." Bozkurt's educational journey began at Ankara Atatürk Lisesi, after which he enrolled in Middle East Technical University in 1984 to pursue a degree in physics. However, his passion for the performing arts led him to switch his major to stage acting in 1990.
Relocating to England, Bozkurt spent 14 years there, where he honed his craft. In 1996, he earned a degree in Media and Communication from Goldsmiths, University of London. His early career included creating documentaries and directing short films.
Encouraged by the director Mehmet Ergen, he resumed his acting career at the Arcola Theatre, showcasing his talent on stage. Upon his return to Turkey, Bozkurt continued to thrive in the entertainment industry, taking on a variety of roles in both films and television series. His diverse body of work and unique style have made him a cherished figure in Turkish cinema and television.
