Phyllis Neilson-Terry

Phyllis Neilson-Terry (15 October 1892 – 25 September 1977) was a distinguished English actress from the renowned Terry family, a lineage with deep roots in the theatrical world. Her career began with notable acclaim in classical performances, particularly in leading roles in Shakespeare's works.

In the early 20th century, Neilson-Terry ventured to the United States, where she spent over four years engaged primarily in lighter theatrical productions. However, upon returning to England in 1919, she embraced a diverse array of performance styles, including cabaret, pantomime, and variety shows, while also revisiting Shakespeare and other classic plays.

Neilson-Terry's versatility allowed her to shine in various formats, and she became a prominent figure in London's vibrant theatre scene. One of her most significant performances came in 1954 when she starred in Terence Rattigan’s acclaimed play, "Separate Tables."
