Saoirse-Monica Jackson
Saoirse-Monica Jackson, a talented actress from Northern Ireland, has made a significant mark in the entertainment industry. Born on November 24, 1993, in Derry, she spent her formative years between Derry and Greencastle, County Donegal, where her family owned a local pub. After completing her GCSEs and A-Levels at St Cecilia's College, she honed her craft at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester.
Jackson's acting career began in earnest in 2016 with her role as Sasha in Harlan Coben's mystery series, The Five, where she appeared in four episodes. That same year, she showcased her stage skills as Curley’s wife in a tour of John Steinbeck's classic, Of Mice and Men, at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Her brief appearance in the final episode of the BBC One drama Broken in 2017 further demonstrated her growing talent.
In 2018, she achieved widespread recognition as Erin Quinn in the beloved Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, a role she portrayed through three successful seasons until the show concluded in May 2022. Her performance earned her a nomination for the IFTA Gala Television Award for Best Female Performance.
Beyond Derry Girls, Jackson participated in the 2020 RTÉ fundraising special, RTÉ Does Comic Relief, alongside her co-stars. Looking ahead, she is set to appear as Cheryl Crawford in the BBC One gangster series This City Is Ours, scheduled for release in 2025.
