Rami Sebei, known in the wrestling world as Sami Zayn, is a prominent Canadian professional wrestler currently performing on WWE's SmackDown brand. Born on July 12, 1984, Sebei initially captured attention under the ring name El Generico, a character inspired by luchador traditions, complete with a signature catchphrase, "Olé!" He made his wrestling debut in 2002 and donned a mask until 2013. Upon joining WWE, he transitioned to wrestling unmasked and quickly rose to prominence, notably capturing the NXT Championship, making him a one-time world champion in the organization.

Before his WWE career, Sebei experienced significant success in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), where he became a two-time PWG World Champion and secured the World Tag Team Championship five times. He stands out as the only wrestler to win both the Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament in 2010 and the Battle of Los Angeles in 2011. Additionally, he held the ROH World Television Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship alongside Kevin Steen, with whom he had a celebrated feud, earning the 2010 Feud of the Year accolade from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Sebei is also a two-time IWS World Heavyweight Champion with the Montreal-based International Wrestling Syndicate and has captured titles internationally, including the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship in Germany and DDT Pro-Wrestling's KO-D Openweight Championship in Japan.
