Giuseppe Addobbati (December 31, 1909 – January 4, 1986) was a prominent Italian actor celebrated for his compelling performances in Spaghetti Westerns and action films during the 1960s and 1970s. For American audiences, he was often credited as John MacDouglas, a name that became synonymous with his work in international cinema.
Hailing from Makarska and later residing in Trieste, Addobbati's cinematic journey spanned over four decades, during which he amassed more than 80 film credits from 1937 to 1980. He frequently portrayed law enforcement characters, showcasing his versatility in roles that highlighted authority and toughness. Notable films in his career include the iconic The Phantom of the Opera (1964), the gritty Blood For A Silver Dollar alongside Giuliano Gemma (known as Montgomery Wood), and the acclaimed political drama The Conformist (1970).
