Zebedy Colt

Edward Earle Marsh, born in 1929 in California, embarked on an eclectic career in the entertainment industry from a young age, making early appearances in Hollywood productions. However, it was during the 1960s that he truly embraced a more avant-garde style, participating in flamboyant, high-camp performances at supper clubs and bars that catered to a predominantly LGBTQ+ audience. Adopting the stage name Zebedy Colt, he recorded a groundbreaking album titled "I'll Sing For You" with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This pioneering work, now a sought-after collector's item, held significant cultural importance for the gay community, featuring torch songs traditionally sung by women, but reinterpreted for a male perspective.

As Zebedy Colt, Marsh transitioned into the emerging realm of adult cinema, where he gained recognition as both a performer and director. His contributions during this period produced several films that have since become iconic within the cult cinema scene, celebrated for their provocative and extreme content. In addition to his film work, he also showcased his talents in various theatrical productions on and off Broadway, further cementing his status in the arts. Marsh eventually settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he passed away in 2004, leaving behind a lasting legacy in both music and film that continues to resonate within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond.
