Jess Weixler
Jessica "Jess" Weixler, born on June 8, 1981, is a talented American actress recognized for her starring roles in the dark comedy-horror film Teeth and the comedy The Big Bad Swim. Weixler graduated from Atherton High School in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1999. During her high school years, she was actively involved in the Walden Theatre Conservatory Program, performed with The River City Players acting group, and sang in the Chamber Singers choral group, receiving the title of "most talented." She further honed her craft at Juilliard.
Her performance in Teeth garnered significant acclaim, earning her a Breakthrough Award nomination at the 2007 Gotham Awards, as well as the Special Jury Prize for a standout performance at the Sundance Film Festival the same year. Additionally, Weixler has made guest appearances in the television series Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In January 2009, New York Magazine recognized her as the "New Indie Queen" of the year and featured her among the fourteen "New Yorkers you need to know." As of now, she resides in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, New York. Throughout her career, Weixler has established herself as a prominent figure in the independent film scene and continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances.
