Chris Kratt
Christopher Frederick James Kratt, born on July 19, 1969, is a prominent American zoologist and beloved host of educational nature series. Hailing from Warren Township, New Jersey, Chris is the grandson of William Jacob "Bill" Kratt, a notable musical-instrument manufacturer. Alongside his older brother, Martin Kratt, he has significantly impacted children's programming with their innovative shows such as Kratts' Creatures, Zoboomafoo, and Be the Creature, which aired on the National Geographic Channel and CBC. Their most recognized work, Wild Kratts, continues to enchant young audiences on PBS Kids and TVOKids.
Chris pursued his passion for biology, earning a Bachelor of Arts in the subject from Carleton College. Throughout his career, he has collaborated closely with Martin, co-hosting all their educational programs, which aim to inspire a love for wildlife and conservation in children.
Both Chris and Martin are also honored alumni of Watchung Hills Regional High School, where they were inducted into the school's hall of fame in 2013, celebrating their achievements and contributions to education and entertainment. Through his work, Chris Kratt has played an instrumental role in fostering curiosity about the natural world, making science accessible and entertaining for countless young viewers.
