Patrick Shane Dorian, commonly known as Shane, was born on July 19, 1972, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Renowned for his exceptional surfing skills, Dorian dedicated over a decade of his life to the World Championship Tour, where he competed as a professional surfer. After an impressive 11-year career on the competitive circuit, Shane made a significant pivot in 2003, choosing to leave the competitive scene to concentrate on big wave surfing.
