Originally from Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, he began his journey in the entertainment industry at the age of fifteen when he started working on local commercials, television shows, and films after joining his high school's drama club. In 2006, Ismael took a significant step towards realizing his ambitions by relocating to New York City, where he enrolled at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
