Sabine Bach embarked on her academic journey at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, where she immersed herself in history, literary studies, and psychology after completing her high school education. In the late 1970s, she relocated to Paris for personal reasons, where she honed her acting skills at the Jacques Lecoq school. She further enhanced her craft by studying improvisation and mask work with Guy Sheeley and learning the intricacies of Commedia dell’Arte under Carlo Basso. Following her training, Bach made her theatrical debut in Montpellier and performed at the cabaret Safari in Marseille.

Her film career took off in 1980 when director Rudolf Thome cast her as Anna in "Berlin Chamissoplatz." This collaboration marked the beginning of a fruitful partnership, with Bach appearing in Thome's films "Paradiso – Sieben Tage mit sieben Frauen" in 1999 and "Venus Talking" in 2000. In 1984, she showcased her talent in the television film "Das leise Gift," directed by Erwin Keusch.

By the mid-1990s, Bach had established a prominent presence in German television, taking on several recurring, episodic, and guest roles. Notably, she portrayed Katharina Wagenfeld in the Sat1 series "So ist das Leben! Die Wagenfelds," Hannah Fink in "CityExpress," and Karen Blumenberg in "Wahnsinnsweiber." Her portrayal of Maria Claasen in the ZDF series "Forsthaus Falkenau" (2005-2006) garnered significant recognition, followed by her role as the energetic teacher Anne Helligpeter in "Der Landarzt" from 2006 to 2009.
