Charla Bocchicchio
Charla Kaye Bocchicchio, born in Belleville, Illinois, is the youngest of five siblings raised by Robert and Frances Hale. From a young age, Charla's passion for storytelling and performance drew her to the world of theatre. She honed her craft at the University of Utah, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre. Charla has dedicated her career to the arts, serving as a teacher, actor, and arts educator, particularly through her long tenure as program and artistic director at CDF, a non-profit organization in Birmingham, Alabama, aimed at making the arts accessible to diverse communities.
In 2012, Charla relocated to Los Angeles, eager to explore her newfound passion for on-camera acting. During her time there, she trained with industry luminaries like Anthony Meindl, whose teachings transformed her approach to performance. Charla also found mentorship and friendship in Judy Kain, leading her to become the lead youth instructor at the acclaimed Keep It Real Acting School in North Hollywood. It was in an improv class at UCB that she met her husband, John Bocchicchio.
In late 2014, the couple returned to Salt Lake City, where Charla continues to thrive as an award-winning actress, appearing in commercials, television, film, and voice-over projects. She has a particular fondness for independent films and improvisational work, including viral ads. Additionally, Charla is a respected acting coach in SLC, shaping the next generation of performers.
