Jaak Tamleht

Jaak Tamleht (February 10, 1942 – July 13, 1986) was a prominent Estonian actor known for his versatile performances across various mediums. Born and raised in Tallinn, Tamleht completed his education at Tallinn's Old Town School for Adults in 1967, later honing his craft at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, from which he graduated in 1972.

His career began with a role at the Tallinn City Theatre, where he performed from 1972 until 1976, showcasing his talent in a variety of theatrical productions. Following this period, he joined Vanalinnastuudio, where he continued to make his mark until 1986. In addition to his work on stage, Tamleht also took on the role of a presenter for Eesti Televisioon, further establishing his presence in the Estonian entertainment landscape.

Despite his dedication to acting, Tamleht faced financial challenges and supplemented his income by working as a truck and taxi driver during periods away from the stage. His contributions to Estonian theatre and television left a lasting impact, making him a cherished figure in the cultural history of Estonia.
