Ann Perry
Ann Perry, born Virginia Ann Lindsay on March 23, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, embarked on a unique journey that would take her from aspiring nun to a pioneering figure in the adult film industry. Raised in a private Catholic school, she initially envisioned a life devoted to spirituality. However, her path changed when she met Ron Myers while at a convent, leading her to leave the cloistered life behind.
In the early 1960s, Ann explored her acting talents in a series of soft-core adult films. By the 1970s, she took a bold step into production by founding Evolution Enterprises, a company that allowed her to write, direct, and produce hardcore films under her own terms. Her contributions to the industry were significant, culminating in her historic appointment as the first female president of the Adult Film Association of America (AFAA).
Perry was a fierce advocate for free speech, an endeavor that sometimes landed her in legal trouble, facing arrests on morals charges due to her outspoken views. Over her lifetime, she was married four times and had two children, including her son, Greg Yedding. Ann Perry passed away from Alzheimer's Disease on September 11, 2015, in Los Angeles, California, leaving behind a legacy as a trailblazer in adult entertainment.
