Natasha Jane Richardson (May 11, 1963 – March 18, 2009) was a distinguished English actress known for her remarkable performances on both stage and screen. Born into the illustrious Redgrave family, she was the daughter of the celebrated actress Vanessa Redgrave and the renowned director and producer Tony Richardson, as well as the granddaughter of actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson.

Richardson gained early recognition for her roles in films such as Mary Shelley and Patty Hearst. Her Broadway debut in 1993's revival of Anna Christie earned her critical praise and a Theatre World Award. She achieved significant acclaim for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in the 1998 Broadway revival of Cabaret, earning the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, along with the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award. Her filmography includes notable works like Patty Hearst (1988), The Handmaid's Tale (1990), Nell (1994), The Parent Trap (1998), and Maid in Manhattan (2002).

After her first marriage to filmmaker Robert Fox ended in 1992, Richardson married Irish actor Liam Neeson in 1994, whom she had met while working on Anna Christie. The couple had two sons, Micheál and Daniel. A passionate advocate for AIDS research, she played a vital role in raising funds for the cause through the charity amfAR. Tragically, Richardson passed away in 2009 following a skiing accident in Quebec.
