Irmgard Millard

Irmgard Millard, originally Irmgard Grabinger, was born in Munich, Germany, in 1937. Her childhood was marked by a love for outdoor activities, particularly skiing and cycling through the picturesque Alps. At 18, driven by her adventurous spirit, she relocated to England to pursue a career in nursing while also honing her English language skills. Following her time in England, she embraced a new role as a tourist guide along the stunning Italian Riviera.

In 1962, Irmgard ventured to San Francisco, California, with the intention of staying for just a year. However, destiny intervened when she met Nick Millard, who would become her husband. Together, they embarked on a creative journey in filmmaking, establishing IRMI Films, a production company named in her honor. Irmgard played a significant role in the production of numerous low-budget films, both as a producer and an actress, demonstrating her versatile talents in the industry.

Irmgard passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023, at the age of 86, at her home in Ave Maria, Florida. Her remarkable life was characterized by bold choices, a passion for adventure, and a lasting impact on independent cinema through her collaborative work with Nick Millard.
