Ronnie Wood
Ronald David Wood, born on June 1, 1947, is a distinguished English rock musician renowned for his role in the legendary band, The Rolling Stones, since 1975. He also gained fame as a member of the Faces and the Jeff Beck Group.
Wood's musical journey commenced in 1964, where he showcased his talent as a lead guitarist in various British rhythm and blues bands, including the Birds and the Creation. In 1967, he joined the Jeff Beck Group, contributing to the seminal albums *Truth* and *Beck-Ola*. Following the band's split in 1969, Wood teamed up with Rod Stewart and former members of the Small Faces—Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan, and Kenney Jones—to form Faces. The group achieved significant acclaim in the UK and Europe, with their final album, *Ooh La La* (1973), featuring Wood's vocals and co-writing on the title track. They gained U.S. fame during their final year, particularly through a major tour.
As Faces disbanded, Wood embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album, *I've Got My Own Album to Do*, in 1974, which included collaborations with George Harrison and Keith Richards. Shortly thereafter, he was invited to join The Rolling Stones, becoming an official member in 1976. Beyond his work with the Stones, Wood has produced several solo albums, including *Gimme Some Neck* (1979) and *I Feel Like Playing* (2010). His contributions to rock music were recognized with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and again in 2012 as a member of Faces.
