Juliet Berto (January 16, 1947 – January 10, 1990) was a prominent French actress, director, and screenwriter, known for her influential contributions to the cinematic landscape of the 1960s and beyond. Emerging from a collective of student activists alongside Anne Wiazemsky, Berto made her debut in Jean-Luc Godard's groundbreaking film, *Two or Three Things I Know About Her*. Her collaboration with Godard continued, featuring notable performances in *La Chinoise*, *Week End*, *Le Gai Savoir*, and *Vladimir et Rosa*.
Berto's artistic journey took a significant turn as she became a key figure for director Jacques Rivette, showcasing her talents in the acclaimed films *Out 1* and *Celine and Julie Go Boating*. In the 1980s, she expanded her creative repertoire by venturing into screenwriting and directing. Her film *Cap Canaille* (1983) was notably showcased at the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival, reflecting her growth as a filmmaker. In recognition of her contributions to cinema, she served on the jury at the 37th Berlin International Film Festival in 1987.
