Gwyneth Strong
Gwyneth Strong is a talented English actress renowned for her memorable portrayal of Cassandra in the beloved BBC sitcom *Only Fools and Horses*, where she played the love interest and later wife of Rodney, portrayed by Nicholas Lyndhurst.
Her acting career began at a young age, making her debut in the Royal Court Theatre's production of *Live Like Pigs* when she was just eleven years old. In 1973, while attending Holland Park School, she made her film debut in the horror movie *Nothing But the Night*, appearing as Mary Valley. From 1977 to 1979, she became a familiar face on children’s television as Jan Carter in *The Flockton Flyer*.
In addition to her iconic role in *Only Fools and Horses*, Strong has showcased her versatility across various projects. She participated in the 1990 series of *The Krypton Factor* in a segment titled "Observation," appeared as WPC Rachel McMahon in the two-part drama *The Missing Postman*, and played Hetty in ITV’s *Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married* (1999). Her contributions to BBC dramas include *Real Women* (1997-1998) and a role in *Casualty* in 2013.
Strong also has a notable stage presence; in 2008, she starred in the West End musical *Our House* as Kath Casey. She joined the cast of the popular BBC soap *EastEnders* in September 2016, playing Geraldine Clough in a recurring role.
Off-screen, she married actor Jesse Birdsall on July 15, 2000, and together they have a son, Oscar, and a daughter, Lottie. The family resides in Bexhill, East Sussex.
