Thierry Henry
Thierry Daniel Henry, born on August 17, 1977, is a distinguished French football coach and former professional player, currently serving as an assistant coach for the Belgium national team. Renowned as one of the game’s greatest strikers, he has left an indelible mark in the Premier League, where he is often celebrated among its all-time legends.
Henry began his professional journey with AS Monaco in 1994, before a brief stint at Juventus. However, seeking more playing time, he joined Arsenal in 1999 for £11 million. Under the guidance of Arsène Wenger, he flourished into a prolific forward, becoming Arsenal's all-time leading scorer with 228 goals. His accolades with the club include four Premier League Golden Boots, two FA Cups, and two Premier League titles, including the historic unbeaten season known as The Invincibles. After a successful tenure, he moved to Barcelona in 2007, where he played a crucial role in the team’s treble-winning campaign in 2008-09. A brief return to Arsenal on loan preceded his retirement from playing in 2014.
On the international stage, Henry was a key figure for France, contributing to their World Cup victory in 1998 and triumph at UEFA Euro 2000. With a record of 51 goals in 123 appearances, he became France’s all-time leading scorer.
Transitioning to coaching, Henry started with Arsenal’s youth teams in 2015 before taking on the assistant role with Belgium.
