John Brinkley
John Brinkley, born in Hartford, Connecticut, served in the Air Force for two years, with his service taking him to the Far East. Upon his return to New York, he dedicated himself to honing his craft at the Academy of Dramatic Arts while also gaining experience with the New York Shakespeare Guild and participating in various off-Broadway productions, such as "The Big Story."
Brinkley eventually made his way to Los Angeles, where he quickly landed a leading role in the stage production of "A View From The Bridge" at the Players Ring. His career continued to flourish as he co-starred alongside Chico Marx in "Fifth Season." Brinkley also made his mark on television, appearing in notable series like "Matinee Theatre," "Annapolis," "The Silent Service," and the iconic "Perry Mason."
Regarded as one of the premier teenage actors of his era, Brinkley was often compared to the legendary James Dean, thanks to his remarkable versatility and the passionate reactions he elicited from audiences.
On March 10, 1958, he married Maila Nurmi, known for her role as 'Vampira,' but their union was short-lived, ending in divorce three years later. John Brinkley passed away on November 14, 2012, leaving behind a legacy as a talented performer in both theater and television.
