Melanie Haynes

Melanie Haynes, born on April 28, 1961, is an accomplished actress celebrated for her versatile performances across a multitude of platforms, including film, television, commercials, and voice-over work.

Hailing from a modest town in Kansas, Haynes nurtured her artistic inclinations through dance, piano, and drama during her childhood. After relocating to Texas, she attended Lamar University, where she was honored with the Best Actress award in her sophomore year. She later graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Theater and English, accompanied by a teaching certificate. Following her academic journey, she spent several years performing with Patsy Swayze's Houston Jazz Ballet Company before fully committing to her acting career.

Throughout her career, Haynes has appeared in both major studio films and independent projects, sharing the screen with numerous Academy Award winners, including Dianne Wiest in *The Face of Rage* and Mahershala Ali in HBO's *True Detective*. She also lent her voice to Sony's critically acclaimed animated film, *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse*.

Her notable roles include a sinister doula in *Blood Born*, a quirky aunt in *Antiquities*, a tough Texas bar owner in *The Last Mark*, and a nurturing mother in Lifetime's *The Road Home for Christmas*.
