2 titles Acting Sep 17, 1961 Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.

James Mark "Jim" Cornette is a prominent American author and podcaster, renowned for his multifaceted career in professional wrestling. His extensive experience includes roles as an agent, booker, color commentator, manager, promoter, trainer, and occasional wrestler, earning him recognition as one of the sport's greatest managers thanks to his exceptional verbal skills.

Cornette's wrestling journey has seen him contribute to a variety of well-known promotions, including the Continental Wrestling Association, Mid-South Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, World Championship Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (currently Impact Wrestling), and Ring of Honor. Notably, he owned and served as head booker for Smoky Mountain Wrestling from 1991 to 1995, and later co-owned and led Ohio Valley Wrestling as head booker and trainer from 1999 to 2005. In his later years, he shifted his focus to backstage roles, stepping back from on-screen management.

In 2017, Cornette officially retired from managing but continued to appear as an "authority figure" in TNA and Ring of Honor while maintaining his backstage influence. His commentary career is notable as well, with recent contributions to Major League Wrestling, What Culture Pro Wrestling, and the National Wrestling Alliance. A member of several prestigious halls of fame, including the NWA and Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cornette is also known for his long-standing rivalry with fellow booker Vince Russo, which was highlighted in two episodes of Viceland's Dark Side of the Ring series.
