Edgard Zapashnyy is a distinguished figure in the world of circus arts, representing the renowned Zapashny dynasty in its fourth generation. Since that same year, he has held the position of General Director of the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue, where he has blended administrative leadership with his passion for performance.
Edgard's journey in the circus began in a challenging period when his family relocated to China, securing a lucrative contract that ensured the well-being of their animals during a difficult time. The Chinese government even constructed a large summer circus in Safari Park near Shenzhen specifically for them. Alongside his brother, Askold Zapashny, Edgard has performed extensively across the globe, gracing stages in Russia, China, Japan, Hungary, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Monaco, Italy, Finland, Latvia, and Estonia.
In 1998, during a celebration for their father, People's Artist of Russia Walter Zapashny, the brothers received the attraction “Among the Predators,” a testament to their family's legacy. Edgard's leadership at the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus continues to thrive as he remains an active performer. Additionally, since 2018, he has served as a member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Culture and Art, underscoring his influence in the cultural sphere.
