Melissa Barrera
Melissa Barrera Martínez, born on July 4, 1990, is a multifaceted Mexican talent recognized for her work as an actress, singer-songwriter, producer, and activist. Barrera embarked on her career with lead roles in popular telenovelas, portraying the sweet Olvido Pérez in Siempre tuya Acapulco (2014) and the tenacious Mía González in Tanto amor (2015). She gained further visibility in the Netflix series Club de Cuervos (2017), where she played the glamorous Isabel Cantú in its third season.
In 2018, Barrera made her mark in Hollywood with her role as the bold and liberated Lyn Hernandez in the Starz series Vida, which ran until 2020. Her performances in the horror genre solidified her status as a scream queen, particularly through her role as Sam Carpenter in the Scream franchise, featuring in Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). Looking ahead, she showcases her versatility by portraying both a former military nurse and drug addict named Joey in Abigail and the aspiring breast cancer survivor Laura Franco in Your Monster, both set for release in 2024.
