Linas Phillips
Linas Phillips, an alumnus of New York University's Experimental Theater Wing, began his career as a live performer, engaging audiences with his unique blend of experimental theater and alternative comedy in the vibrant arts scene of New York City. For over five years, he worked as a babysitter for special needs children, a role that sparked his creativity and led him to produce short videos featuring his young charges.
In 2006, Phillips transitioned from the stage to filmmaking, marking a significant shift in his artistic journey. His debut feature, "Walking To Werner," chronicles his ambitious 1,200-mile trek from Seattle to Los Angeles in pursuit of renowned director Werner Herzog. This documentary garnered him recognition and a spot in Filmmaker Magazine's prestigious list of 25 New Faces in Independent Film.
Phillips continued to make waves with his third feature, "Bass Ackwards," which he wrote, directed, and starred in, premiering at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. His versatile talent has also led him to guest appearances on popular television shows, including a notable role in Season 4 of "Eastbound and Down." More recently, he is set to share the screen with Jay Duplass in the upcoming film "Manson Family Vacation," showcasing his ongoing commitment to innovative storytelling and performance.
