Kevin Lima, born around 1962, is a prominent American director known for his significant contributions to Disney's animated and live-action film repertoire. He made his directorial debut with the beloved animated feature A Goofy Movie in 1995, which quickly became a fan favorite. Lima continued to leave his mark on the industry with films such as Tarzan, 102 Dalmatians, and the enchanting live-action adaptations Eloise at the Plaza and Eloise at Christmastime. His most notable work, Enchanted, seamlessly blended animation with live-action, showcasing his innovative storytelling approach.

Before stepping into the director's chair, Lima honed his skills as an animator and character designer, contributing to classics like The Little Mermaid and The Great Mouse Detective. He also served as a story editor for notable films including Aladdin and Oliver & Company, further solidifying his reputation in the animation field.

Currently, Lima is working on a feature adaptation of the timeless story of Tom Thumb, titled Thumb, for Warner Bros. He is also developing projects such as Candy Land in collaboration with Universal and Hasbro, as well as Afterlife with Fox 2000.

Lima studied film and animation at the California Institute of the Arts in the mid-1980s. He shares his life with Brenda Chapman, a fellow animation director renowned for her work at Pixar. Notably, Lima has Portuguese heritage through both of his grandparents.
