Keith Prentice

Keith Prentice was a distinguished American actor known for his contributions to television, film, and theater. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Larry in both the original stage and film adaptations of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking play, The Boys in the Band. His performance in this pivotal work helped to solidify his place in the annals of LGBTQ+ representation in the arts.

In addition to his theatrical achievements, Prentice made a memorable appearance on the iconic soap opera Dark Shadows during its final months in 1971, further showcasing his versatility as an actor. His image even graced the Tasters Choice coffee label for several years, a testament to his appeal beyond the traditional acting realm.

In 1982, Prentice took a significant step in nurturing the arts by co-founding Kettering Theatre Under the Stars. There, he dedicated his talents to directing summer productions, enriching the local arts scene until his untimely passing.

Tragically, Keith Prentice succumbed to AIDS-related cancer on September 27, 1992, in Kettering, Ohio. His legacy endures through his influential work and the impact he made on both the performing arts and the LGBTQ+ community.
