Harold Sylvester

Harold Sylvester, born on February 10, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a distinguished American actor known for his contributions to both film and television. A proud alumnus of St. Augustine High School, he furthered his education at Tulane University, where he made history as the first African-American to receive an athletic scholarship, playing basketball while earning a degree in theater and psychology in 1972.

Sylvester gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Griff, the amiable co-worker of Al Bundy, on the iconic television series *Married... with Children*. His television career includes notable appearances in the 1981 series *Walking Tall*, *Today's F.B.I.*, *Mary*, and *Shaky Ground*, with his most recent role in the military-themed comedy *The Army Show*.
