Black M
Alpha Diallo, widely recognized by his stage name Black M, was born on December 27, 1984. A prominent figure in the French music scene, he is not only a rapper but also a singer-songwriter and a member of the influential group Sexion d'Assaut.
Black M's rise to fame began in 2014 with the release of his debut solo album, *Les yeux plus gros que le monde*, which quickly achieved diamond certification, selling over 530,000 copies by December of that year. The album featured the hit single "Sur ma route," which reached the top of the charts in France and was certified platinum.
Originating from a modest background in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, Alpha's Guinean heritage inspires much of his artistic expression. His stage name, Black Mesrimes—a clever blend of references—was later simplified to Black M. He is known for his unique facial expressions during performances, particularly the signature wide-eyed look featured on his album cover.
As part of Sexion d'Assaut, Black M contributed to two studio albums, *L'École des points vitaux* (2010) and *L'Apogée* (2012), along with several mixtapes and live recordings, solidifying the group's status in French hip-hop. Following his successful solo career, he embarked on a second album, *Éternel insatisfait*, released in 2016, which was accompanied by a nationwide tour.
Beyond music, Black M has ventured into film, announcing plans for an autobiography in late 2017. His multifaceted career continues to inspire fans across the globe.
