Matt William Knowles is a prominent American actor recognized for his contributions to both Hollywood and the Chinese film industry. Hailing from South Carolina, Knowles initially pursued a career in football until an injury shifted his focus. Seeking a new direction, he relocated to a rural area in China to engage in humanitarian efforts, where he taught and volunteered in underserved communities. His life took an unexpected turn when he was discovered at a karaoke venue, which opened doors to his acting career in China.

Fluent in Mandarin, Knowles rapidly emerged as a leading foreign actor in the Chinese market, showcasing his talent in various television series and films. Among his notable early performances is his involvement in historical dramas and action films, culminating in a significant role in Asura (2018), which marked China's inaugural $100 million blockbuster.
