Scottie Maurice Pippen, born on September 25, 1965, is a legendary former professional basketball player who made a significant mark in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Best known for his pivotal role with the Chicago Bulls, Pippen helped secure six NBA Championships and contributed to the team's remarkable 1995–96 season, where they achieved a record of 72 wins. Alongside the iconic Michael Jordan, he was vital in elevating the Bulls' status and expanding the NBA's global appeal throughout the 1990s.

Regarded as one of the greatest small forwards in basketball history, Pippen earned an impressive eight consecutive selections to the NBA All-Defensive First Team and three to the All-NBA First Team. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and won the All-Star Game MVP award in 1994. In recognition of his outstanding career, he was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History during the 1996–97 season. Pippen's jersey has been retired by the Chicago Bulls, marking him as one of only four players to receive this honor alongside Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, and Michael Jordan.

Over his seventeen-year career, which included twelve seasons with the Bulls, one with the Houston Rockets, and four with the Portland Trail Blazers, he reached the playoffs sixteen consecutive times. Notably, Pippen ranks third for most postseason games played, trailing only Robert Horry and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Furthermore, he is unique for winning both an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal in the same year on two occasions. Pippen was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on August 13, 2010.
