With an impressive career spanning over five decades, he has starred in around 170 films since his debut in 1967, establishing himself as one of the most versatile character actors in cinematic history. Depardieu has received numerous accolades, including two César Awards for Best Actor and a Golden Globe for his performance in "Green Card." His portrayal of the titular character in "Cyrano de Bergerac" earned him significant critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination, paving the way for his appearances in various high-profile Hollywood productions.
In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he has been honored as a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur and the Ordre national du Mérite. In January 2013, Depardieu became a Russian citizen and was appointed as a cultural ambassador for Montenegro.
