Stefania Casini
**Stefania Casini: A Multifaceted Creative Force**
Stefania Casini embarked on her artistic journey with a degree in Architecture before transitioning to acting. Her impressive film career includes collaborations with renowned directors such as Pietro Germi, Bernardo Bertolucci, Peter Greenaway, and Dario Argento. In the late 1970s, she relocated to New York, where she appeared in Andy Warhol's film "Bad." This experience inspired her to shift her focus from acting to directing.
In partnership with Francesca Marciano, Stefania co-wrote and directed "Lontano da dove," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 1983. She continued her directorial pursuits with the 1997 feature film "Un Paradiso di Bugie," and has directed six feature films for the Italian television network MEDIASET.
A dedicated traveler, Stefania has produced numerous documentaries and reportages for RAI and MEDIASET, often highlighting contemporary issues faced by women and youth. Notable series include "Islam: Stories of Women," "Latin America: Stories of Women," "To Be 20 Years Old In..." (which aired across ten European countries from 2004-2005), and "So Close, So Far: Portraits in the Suburbs." Her work, "Schiaffo alla mafia" ("A Blow to the Mafia"), further exemplifies her commitment to impactful storytelling.
From 2000 to 2002, Stefania served as the Artistic Director for the Siena Film Festival "Terra di Siena," and in 2010, she was the Managing Director of DGTV IESTV. Currently, she continues to write and direct content for RAI and satellite channels such as RAI Sat Cinema World and Gambero Rosso Channel, while also contributing as a journalist to various popular women's magazines.
