Julianna McCarthy

Julianna McCarthy, born on August 17, 1929, is a celebrated American actress known for her significant contributions to both television and film. She gained widespread recognition as Liz Foster, the matriarch of the soap opera The Young and the Restless, where she was an original cast member from 1973 to 1982. McCarthy made several returns to the iconic role in subsequent years, appearing in 1984, 1985-86, 1993, 2003-2004, and for the last time in June 2010, solidifying her status as a beloved figure in daytime television.

In addition to her work on The Young and the Restless, McCarthy showcased her versatility in a variety of films, including The Last American Virgin, The Distinguished Gentleman, The Frighteners, Starship Troopers, and Ted Bundy.
