John "Johnny" Brown, born on June 11, 1937, was a multifaceted American actor and singer known for his engaging performances on stage and screen. Renowned for his jovial demeanor, chubby figure, and expressive face, Brown became a beloved figure in entertainment, particularly recognized for his role as Nathan Bookman, the building superintendent on the iconic 1970s sitcom Good Times. His character often found himself the target of humorous jabs from J. J. Evans, portrayed by Jimmie Walker, and Brown remained with the series until its conclusion in 1979.
