Lydia Fotopoulou

Lydia Fotopoulou, born on June 22, 1956, in Kavala, Greece, is a prominent actress celebrated for her impactful contributions to both theater and television. Raised in Thessaloniki, she pursued her passion for acting at the Drama School of the State Theatre of Northern Greece, where she honed her craft before embarking on her professional journey in the early 1980s. Her stage debut was marked by a collaboration with the esteemed director Andreas Voutsinas, and she later worked with notable figures such as Minos Volanakis and Giorgos Vouros.

Fotopoulou transitioned to television in 1991 with a role in the Scandinavian series *Amforans gata*, filmed in Greece. Her notable television career took off in 1993 when she partnered with director Panos Kokkinopoulos in the anthology series *Anatomy of a Crime*, showcasing her versatility in episodes like "A Simple Family Story."

She gained further recognition in the period series *The Straw Hats* during the 1995-1996 season and made guest appearances in various series, including *Night Bulletin* in 1998. Her narration in the NET documentary *Epoches kai Ssgabries* from 2002 to 2003 further showcased her talent.

In later years, she starred in *To Deka* (2007-2008) and returned to television in 2015 with the police series *10th Order*. In 2020, she enchanted audiences as the quirky grandmother in *I tourta tis mamas* and continued to impress in *Tritos Orofos* in 2023. Her film career includes appearances in *Atreides* (1987), *Agripnia* (2000), and the drama *Dangerous Cooking* (2010).
