Adrián Fernández
Adrián Fernández, born on April 20, 1963, in Mexico City, is a celebrated figure in motorsport, recognized both as a racing driver and team owner, particularly in the IndyCar Series. He kicked off his racing journey in Mexico, clinching the Mexican Formula 3 championship in 1991, before relocating to the United States to compete in the Indy Lights series, where he achieved a commendable third place in the championship standings.
Fernández made his CART IndyCar World Series debut in 1993 with Galles Racing. His breakthrough came in 1996 when he secured his first win at the Toronto street circuit while driving for Tasman Motorsports. Over his illustrious career, he amassed a total of 11 victories in IndyCar events, with his peak performance occurring in 2000, when he finished as the championship's runner-up, narrowly losing the title to Gil de Ferran.
In 2001, he transitioned into a driver-owner role by co-founding Fernández Racing, which competed successfully in both the CART and IndyCar Series, achieving multiple race wins.
