Georg Stanford Brown
Georg Stanford Brown, born on June 24, 1943, in Havana, Cuba, is a distinguished Cuban-American actor and director, best recognized for his role as Officer Terry Webster on the ABC police drama series The Rookies, which aired from 1972 to 1976.
In the 1960s, Brown amassed a diverse array of roles in both television and film. Notably, he portrayed Henri Philipot in the 1967 film The Comedians and played Dr. Willard in the 1968 classic Bullitt. His film career continued to flourish with a lead role in the 1972 film Wild in the Sky, where he starred alongside Brandon De Wilde, telling the story of anti-establishment guerrillas with an audacious plan to destroy Fort Knox.
Brown's talent extended to television miniseries, including his memorable performance as Tom Harvey, the son of Chicken George, in the landmark 1977 miniseries Roots and its 1979 sequel, Roots: The Next Generations. He found commercial success in 1980 with the hit comedy Stir Crazy, starring alongside legends Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor. In 1985, he appeared in the epic miniseries North & South, playing the character Grady.
Beyond acting, Brown took on directing roles, helming several episodes of the acclaimed series Hill Street Blues. More recently, he has enjoyed a recurring role on the FX series Nip/Tuck, showcasing his enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
