Miko Weaver
Miko Weaver is a renowned American guitarist celebrated primarily for his collaboration with the iconic musician Prince. His journey into the limelight began when he performed with Sheila E.'s band, where Prince first noticed his talent. Weaver's contributions included a memorable studio session that led to the creation of the 12" single "I Would Die 4 U." He soon became a crucial part of Prince’s ensemble, The Family, before transitioning to The Revolution, a band that recorded the influential album *Parade* and embarked on a final tour.
After the disbandment of The Revolution, Weaver remained a key player in Prince's touring band for the acclaimed *Sign o' the Times* and *Lovesexy* tours, showcasing his exceptional guitar skills. He continued to work with Prince during various studio sessions, cementing his status as a prominent musician. Although he left Prince’s band following the *Lovesexy World Tour*, he made a notable appearance in the film *Graffiti Bridge*.
Later, Weaver collaborated with actor Eddie Murphy, providing guitar lessons and forming a band that performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In the mid-1990s, he spent time in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where he played in local clubs and recorded tracks, including the unreleased "Crazy with Sex." Currently based in Ibiza, Spain, Weaver has shifted his focus to playing bass and DJing at local hotspots, while also venturing into creating art and hosting exhibitions. His musicianship continues to shine through projects, including his work on Dorian Moor's 2009 single.
