Elli Fotiou
Elli Fotiou, born Evangelia Trigonopoulou on September 30, 1939, in Piraeus, Greece, is a distinguished actress known for her work in theatre, film, and television. A graduate of the National Theatre's Drama School in 1962, she has built a prolific career spanning several decades. Fotiou has showcased her talents in a variety of productions across multiple mediums, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the Greek entertainment industry.
Throughout her career, she has actively participated in prestigious international film festivals, proudly representing Greece at the Cannes Film Festival in 1965, as well as at both the Berlin and Moscow Film Festivals in 1966. One of her notable achievements includes winning the First Prize for Performance at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in the same year for her role in the acclaimed play "Epistrofi."
In addition to her performances, Fotiou is a dedicated member of the Greek Actors' Union and the Greek Theatre Centre, contributing to the development and support of the performing arts in her country. She is also known for her partnership with fellow actor Stefanos Linaios, which has further solidified her presence in the theatrical community.
