Eilene Janssen
Eilene Janssen, born on May 25, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, was the daughter of Henry Janssen and Mary Ellen Thompson. She embarked on her acting journey at a young age, showcasing her talent as a child actress in the early 1940s. With her father’s longstanding association with Universal Studios, Eilene made her film debut in the 1940 production Sandy Gets Her Man. Over the years, she appeared in various films, including notable titles like Two Girls and a Sailor and It Happened Tomorrow. Her childhood fame escalated when she was crowned "Little Miss America" in 1944.
As she transitioned into adulthood, Janssen took on more significant roles, including Elise in Song of Love and Peggy in The Boy with Green Hair. One of her standout performances came in the 1957 Western Escape from Red Rock, where she starred as the female lead.
In addition to her film work, Eilene made a mark on television, featuring in popular series such as The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, Father Knows Best, Mister Ed, and Perry Mason, among others. After a successful acting career, she opted to retire in 1968.
Janssen's personal life included three marriages, beginning with Harry Ronald Rothschild in 1957, followed by Thomas Alexander Orchard in 1963, and finally George Ellis Moore in 1968. She has five children and currently resides in Pasadena, California, as of 2004.
