Margaret Clunie
Margaret Jayne Clunie, born on October 3, 1987, is an accomplished English actress and former model, celebrated for her portrayal of Harriet, Duchess of Sutherland in the ITV period drama *Victoria*, which aired from 2016 to 2017. Hailing from Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, she is the daughter of a business consultant and a medical secretary and has one elder sister. Initially aspiring to become a fashion journalist, Clunie studied English at Newcastle University, where her passion for performing arts blossomed through theatrical involvement. She honed her craft at the Oxford School of Drama, graduating in 2010.
Clunie’s modeling career commenced at age 14 when she was discovered on the London Underground. Although she participated in numerous photo shoots and walked the runway at London Fashion Week, she later described the experience as disheartening, citing the industry's pressures on young models.
Her acting career took off in 2012 with a debut in the BBC One medical soap *Doctors*. This was followed by a notable recurring role as Natasha in the Sky Arts series *A Young Doctor's Notebook*, starring alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm. Clunie made her London stage debut in *Hard Feelings* at the Finborough Theatre in 2013.
In subsequent years, she appeared in various productions, including guest roles in *Death in Paradise* and the romantic comedy *Last Christmas* in 2019. Clunie continued to build her portfolio with performances in the Greek series *Kart postal* in 2021, the Disney+ series *Andor* in 2022, and the crime drama *Dalgliesh*.
